This old-world chardonnay grows on a steep, calcium and iron rich, sandstone hillside in the village of Flonheim. Whole grapes and juice fermented slowly and naturally in a single, century-old foudre. Extended aging sur-lie balances the crisp acidity and leaves this wine delicate and rounded. Made with the help and inspiration of our dear friend and grower, Nico Espenschied. This wine was aged in stainless barrels for 9 months at our winery in RI.
